What's the Difference Between Dia Light and Dia Richesse?

Dia Light and Dia Richesse are both ammonia-free demi-permanent colours from L'Oreal Professionnel's Dia family. The key difference: Dia Light is an acidic gloss that gives translucent tone and high shine, while Dia Richesse gives a richer, more opaque deposit and slightly stronger grey blending.

When should you use Dia Light?

Dia Light is the colourist's choice for toning and glossing. Because it is acidic, it closes the cuticle for a high-shine, translucent finish – perfect for refreshing lengths, toning after lightening, and quick gloss services. Learn more in What is L'Oreal Dia Light? and check shades on the Dia Light colour chart.

When should you use Dia Richesse?

Dia Richesse deposits a richer, more opaque tone and blends a little more grey, making it ideal where you want a fuller, natural-looking result rather than a sheer gloss. It is still ammonia-free, so the fade stays soft.

Please note: Dia Richesse availability has changed in the UK and stock can be limited. For the current ammonia-free demi options we stock, see our Dia Richesse availability update – in most cases L'Oreal Dia Color or Dia Light is the recommended replacement.

How to mix both

Both are mixed with L'Oreal Dia Activateur (6 or 9 vol). Dia Light is typically mixed 1:1.5; always follow the current L'Oreal instructions and patch test. Browse all peroxides & developers at trade prices.
