L'Oreal Majirel Shade Chart: Full Shade Guide for Salons

In short: this is the full Majirel shade chart — every L'Oréal Professionnel Majirel shade we stock, grouped by depth and tone, plus the High Lift and Cool Cover ranges. For the mixing ratio, developers, application and grey-coverage method, see the complete Majirel colourist's guide.

Written for salon professionals. Reviewed against current L'Oréal Professionnel guidance.

How to read Majirel shade numbers

Majirel uses L'Oréal's standard notation. The number before the point is the depth (level), from 1 (black) to 10 (lightest blonde). The numbers after the point are the reflects (tones), with the first reflect dominant and the second secondary.

  • .1 — ash (neutralises warmth)
  • .2 — iridescent
  • .3 — gold
  • .4 — copper
  • .5 — mahogany
  • .6 — red
  • .8 — mocha

So 6.1 reads as a dark ash blonde (level 6, ash reflect), and 7.43 is a level 7 with a dominant copper and secondary gold reflect. For the full theory, see our guide to hair colour numbering.

Every Majirel shade we stock, listed by depth from lightest to darkest. The number before the point is the depth (1 black to 10 lightest blonde); the figures after are the reflects (.1 ash, .2 iridescent, .3 gold, .4 copper, .5 mahogany, .6 red, .8 mocha). Browse the full Majirel range.

Choosing the right Majirel shade

Match the natural base level first, then choose the reflect to add or neutralise warmth. Majirel covers up to 100% white hair: use your target shade alone up to 50% white, and for 50–100% white mix it with an equal part of a same-level basic shade to supply the underlying pigment. The full method is in our grey coverage guide, and developer choice is covered in developer volumes explained.
